Although the United Nations started celebrating IWD in 1978 with the International Women's Year, the first National Woman's day was observed in the United States in 1909. Today, the struggle to achieve equal status, that is, the same position in society as men, is still going on.
Let's celebrate this date in English too with different activities:
Activity 1: Read the list of vocabulary relatid to women's rights.
Activity 2: Reading comprehension exercise: text about IWD.
Activity 3: Reading comprehension exercise: text about Women who changed the world.
Activity 4: Reading comprehension exercise: Text about women's rights in history.
